The following is an Genie NVR integration that integration that requires an integration license and may require additional support than a standard SureView integration.
Important Note: Genie also supports RTSP Live Streaming and Email/SMTP alarms using "Standards Based Integrations" - If the only required features for a project are Live Video and Alarms then using the Standards Based approach may be preferable than the more advanced and feature rich "Native Integration" - See "Standards Based" Genie RTSP support page for more details

What is Genie NVR ? Genie provides a wide range of video equipment but it is most commonly deployed as an NVR
Integration Description: The Integration is a native Genie NVR integration that allows a user to view live camera and perform remote tasks such as PTZ control, Preset Goto and Get Configuration. A variety of this functionality can be used via the SureView platform, Please see the features list for a full breakdown of this.

Configuration
The following are the steps required to configured Genie to work with the Sureview.
Before you begin
Before you configure your Genie system to work with Sureview make sure you have the following:
- An Ops Link+ installed on to the local network
- All required ports configured (see Components and Communication)
- Username and password of your Genie NVR
Important: both the Username and Password are Case Sensitive.
"admin" is different to "Admin"
Genie - Identify the correct ports and enable API & RTSP
- Login to Genie's Web Interface
- Navigate to the Function Panel
- Make sure API Server is enabled
- Make sure RTSP is Enabled
- Note down the ports:
- HTTP or HTTPS Port (depending on what you want to use)
- RTSP Port
Genie - Live Video Configuration
- Login to the Genie Recorder Web Interface using your Genie admin credentials
- Click "Function Panel"
- Click "Network"
- Click "Stream Settings"
- Set each camera's Sub Stream is appropriately set based on SureView's Video Requirements and your own network / bandwidth requirements.
Note: Encode must be set to H.264, the other values can be adjusted up and down based on available network bandwidth and monitoring requirements
- Encode: "H.264" (required)
- Resolution: No higher than "1280x720" (recommended)
- FPS: 10 (recommended)
- Bitrate Type: VBR or CBR (recommended)
- Quality: Medium (recommended)
- Max Bitrate: 512Kbps (recommended)
- GOP: 10 (recommended)
- Press Apply
SureView Device Setup
Note: Genie is an advanced integration and must be configured using the using advanced "Device Setup" page and the "Device Configuration" feature
When setting up the Genie device enter the following details and use the "Get Configuration" button to automatically populate the individual cameras and audio channel

Enabling PTZ
To enable operator controlled "Physical PTZ" manually navigate to the Cameras section and edit the individual camera. Within the Editing Camera box click the "PTZ" checkbox and Save.
If you would like to use Genie PTZ Presets you can also add them here
Note: The presets must have already been configured in Genie itself for this to work
Substreams
To set a camera to use the substream rather than the main stream set the Camrea's Extra Value as
streamType=sub
Enabling Audio
Navigate to the Audio section and edit the Genie's audio channel (Input 1: 0). Tick the "Transmit" option and press save.
Important: The SureView Genie Native Integration only supports audio transmit to the NVR connected audio out/speaker. It does not support transmitting to individual cameras nor does it support Audio Receive.
Genie - Email Alarm Configuration
Email Settings
- Login to the Genie Recorder Web Interface using your Genie admin credentials
- Click "Function Panel"
- Click "Network"
- Click "E-Mail"
- Set the E-mail details as follows
- Sender Name: Enter your organisation name
- Email Address sureview@yourorganisationname.com
- SMTP Server: us-smtp.sureviewops.com (if your SureView account is held in the US region) OR eu-smtp.sureviewops.com (if your Ops account is held in the EU region)
- SMTP Port: 465
- Security: SSL
- Attaching Image: Multiple Pictures
- Image Number: 10
- Anonymous Login: Ticked/Enabled
- Press Apply
- Click Edit Recipients
- Enter your unique SureView Alarming Email Address (see SureView Email Alarm Setup support page) - it will look something like a7yxqbje4g@us.sureviewops.com OR a7yxqbje4g@eu.sureviewops.com)
- Select your required alarming schedule in the drop down (this can be configured with the "Schedule Management" button)
- Press Add
- Press Apply
