Tag Actions as relevant to Metrics

Some choices and actions within an Action Plan could be utilized to provide valuable metrics if there were a function to mark them as relevant for that purpose. When creating an Action Plan, it would be good to be able to tag responses as important so they are included in reporting to allow the management team to better identify trends and improve processes. Some examples:

  • Tagging the response choice for a question of what type of dispatch is required will allow management to create reports on how many times security, building management, emergency services, etc. were dispatched due to an alarm; or similarly how many events had a choice indicating a technical or hardware issue.
  • For specific alarm types, like Door Held, the operator can be prompted to enter the ID of the individual who held/propped it; if tagged for metrics, reports could be run to identify repeat offenders so these cases could be looked at to find a solution to the repeat issue
  • A more complicated one that would require some additional logic, setting a reporting action on one or more actions throughout a plan to identify time elapsed from alarm acknowledgement would allow managers to understand which processes cause slow-downs and are good targets for process improvements.
