Using Virtual Operator

SureView's Virtual Operator uses advanced AI to automate routine security operations tasks. This guide explains how to manage Virtual Operators directly from the Response platform.

What is the Virtual Operator?

The Virtual Operator is an AI agent that can:

  • Analyze event details, locations, and timing
  • Evaluate incoming alarm footage and livestreams
  • Detect people and vehicles in video
  • Complete action plans by answering questions and adding notes
  • Summarize and close events
  • Escalate events to human operators when needed

How Virtual Operators Process Events

Virtual Operators work by following the guidelines you've set up in the AI Settings. When an event occurs:

  1. The Virtual Operator checks if any guidelines apply to the event
  2. If triggers in a guideline are met, the corresponding actions are executed
  3. The Virtual Operator can:
    • Answer action plan questions
    • Escalate events to human operators
    • Close events with appropriate outcomes and notes

Monitoring Virtual Operator Activity

You can track what your Virtual Operators are doing:

  1. The Control Panel shows the last activity timestamp
  2. In the event queue, events handled by Virtual Operators will show "Virtual Operator" as the assigned user
  3. Completed events will contain details about actions taken by the Virtual Operator

Best Practices

  • Start with a small number of Virtual Operators and gradually increase based on your needs
  • Create clear guidelines with specific triggers and actions
  • Regularly review events processed by Virtual Operators to refine your guidelines
  • Use the escalation feature to ensure critical events receive human attention
  • Consider setting time parameters (e.g., seconds before first action) to optimize response times

Troubleshooting

If Virtual Operators aren't processing events as expected:

  1. Verify that Virtual Operators are enabled in AI Settings
  2. Check that at least one Virtual Operator is running
  3. Review your guidelines to ensure triggers match the events you want to automate
  4. Confirm that necessary permissions are assigned to your user account
  5. Check for any error messages in the Control Panel or Activity Log
