What is an Ops Link Mini?

An Ops Link Mini is a small, secure, device which streams the video from your on-premise H.264 RTSP cameras to SureView Ops so you can view it without needing to set up Port Forwards to each of your cameras.

Note: The Ops Link Mini provides Live Video streaming functionality for H.264 RTSP cameras only. It does not provide other device functionality such as Physical PTZ control - this requires a full Ops Link Server

Is it secure?

Yes, the connection to SureView Ops is made using industry standard 2048-bit encryption using the latest TLS v1.2 protocol to servers that are hardened to PCI v3.2 levels. Refer to the Security page for full security information of both the SureView Ops infrastructure and the Ops Link Mini device

How many do I need?

You will need one Ops Link Mini device per separate network where RTSP cameras exist. So:

• If you have one location that is able to access all cameras (such as your security office or a datacenter) then you only need one device there.
• If each location containing cameras has its own network you will need one device per location.

What does it require to operate?

The Ops Link Mini device requires the following:

1. Power: via the included power adapter
2. Network Connection: which must be providing the following...
   1. DHCP: to provide it with network settings giving it access to the internet and your cameras as described below. Noting that:
      1. The type of DHCP allocation does not affect the device - it can be a Dynamic allocation where it may be assigned a different IP over time or a Static allocation where it is always assigned the same IP.
   2. Camera access: Access to your RTSP/ONVIF cameras. Noting that:
      1. The network must be reliable and fast enough to fetch the video you are requesting from the cameras otherwise you may encounter reliability issues. If your network performs bandwidth restrictions/traffic filtering we recommend you whitelist the device to ensure the traffic is not interfered with.
      2. The cameras must be on the same subnet for automatic detection to work
   3. Internet access: Access to the internet to connect to SureView Ops (HTTPS WebSocket on port 443). Noting that:
      1. The internet connection must be reliable and fast enough to transmit the video you are requesting from the cameras otherwise you may encounter reliability issues. If your network performs bandwidth restrictions/traffic filtering we recommend you whitelist the device to ensure the traffic is not interfered with.

IMPORTANT: If your network has any special requirements for devices to gain internet access please let SureView know before the device is shipped to you, including:

1. MAC Address restrictions.
2. Web Proxy use.
3. SSL Interception/Inspection.
4. Bandwidth/traffic filtering.
5. Anything else that prevents a device from just obtaining network settings from DHCP and making a HTTPS WebSocket request to the internet.

How do I obtain one?

Please contact Customer Support  and ask for an Ops Link Mini device and provide the shipping address we can send it to. 

What size is it?

The dimensions are 115mm W x 82mm H x 34mm D

What do I do when I receive it?

The box contains an Ops Link Mini device and a power adapter.

Please use an Ethernet cable to plug it into your network and connect the power adapter and plug it in. It should automatically turn on showing a white light above the On/Off button, but if not press the button to switch it on.

It will receive an IP address automatically from your network via DHCP and establish an encrypted connection with SureView Ops. Shortly afterwards it will appear in your SureView Ops account for use with cameras.

How do I receive support?

If you have any issues with your Ops Link Mini device please contact Customer Support providing the serial code shown on the large sticker on the bottom of the device, appearing as a "U" or "E" followed by 6 numbers i.e. "U000001" or "E000001".
