If you don't want operators to use a specific Manual Raise Event Type then the recommended approach is to move the type to an unused / archive Area.
This ensures that the Manual Raise Type still exists in your history (so it can be searched or viewed in reports) but stops Operators from accidently using it when triggering manual raise alarms.
You should only Delete a manual raise event type if there are no historic events that use it which you may want to report or search for in future.
Important
If you DELETE a Manual Raise Event Type then you will no longer be able to search for that Event Type in the history or use Insight Report filters for that type.
Using an Admin SureView login....
- Create an Area called "Disabled Manual Raise Event Types" (or something similar) - See Area Setup
- In SureView Response go to the Main menu and select "Event Types
- Make sure "Manual Raise" is selected in the "Filter by Server Type" drop down
- Find the Event Type you want to Disable and click the Edit button
- Change the "Area" drop down to your "Disabled Manual Raise Event Types" area and press SAVE
- The Manual Raise Event Type will no longer be available for operators to select (unless the specifically choose the "Disabled Manual Raise Event Types" area during the manual raise process. The Event Type will still be searchable in the history and insights reports for historic alarms.
