How can I get alerted if an alarm point hasn’t triggered recently?
SureView supports a feature called Expected Frequency that can alert you if an alarm point goes quiet for too long.
What is Expected Frequency?
The Expected Frequency (minutes) setting in the Alarm Setup or Event Configuration allows you to define how often a specific alarm point should be expected to trigger.
If an alarm isn’t received from that point within the defined timeframe, the system will automatically:
- Raise a "NOT RECEIVED" alarm into the alarm queue
- Mark the alarm point as unhealthy in SureView Status
Note: This does not send an email or external notification – it triggers an alarm for operators to action within the system.
How to set it up
- Go to Alarm Setup or Event Configuration setup screen
- Find the alarm point or Event Type you want to monitor
- Set the Expected Frequency field (in minutes) to the maximum acceptable time between alarms
Frequency Minutes Once an hour 60 Once a day 1440 Once a week 1008 Once a month 43200 - Save your changes
Note: If the field is left blank, the system will not monitor the alarm point for inactivity.
